Naʻau (www.naauhilo.com) is seeking candidates for servers and dishwashers / prep cooks for pop-ups and private dinners throughout the Island of Hawaiʻi. Currently, a majority of our pop-ups take place in Pepeʻekeo, but events occur island-wide. Candidates must be available to work weekends for on-call / casual shifts with the potential to work on other days of the week.
Naʻau is a project created by Chef Brian Hirata, based on the Hawaiian definition "guts; of the heart and mind." Hirata, a 2023 and 2022 James Beard Foundation Award Semifinalist, who was named one of the 10 change-makers in America in Departures magazine in October 2020, is dedicating his life to preserving Hawaiʻi's food culture while progressing the local cuisine through thoughtful presentations.
Servers: Primary duties consist of serving food and beverages to guests, memorizing and explaining the concept and story behind each dish, ensuring guests' needs are taken care of throughout service, and other duties as assigned.
Dishwashers / prep cooks: Primary duties consist of dishwashing, storage of dishes, cooking prep, and other duties as assigned.
As we are a small team, all team members, no matter the position, assist with serving when needed, as well as cleaning, packing, setting up, washing dishes, and other duties as assigned.
Three years of experience in a fine / elevated dining experience preferred for all positions.
