Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook/Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fine dining and a strong background in food preparation and handling. This position is a critical part of our kitchen operation and is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and handling guidelines
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and cooking sides
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service
- Operate kitchen equipment and tools, including knives, stoves, and ovens
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
- Work closely with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary requests
- Participate in food safety training and adhere to all protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Experience in the food industry, preferably in fine dining or a related culinary environment
- Strong understanding of food handling and safety guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Proficiency with knife skills and kitchen equipment
- Familiarity with meal preparation and presentation standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of dietary aide principles and practices
- Certification in food safety or willingness to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
