Griswold Home Care for Oahu is seeking dedicated caregivers to support our clients (kupuna and their ohana) on Oahu with routine tasks associated with living independently at home. This typically involves providing clients with companionship, and different types of assistance depending on the client's needs and wants. Work can include assistance with grooming, ambulation, transfers, light housekeeping, meal preparation, running errands, providing transportation/escort to appointments and activities, etc. The specific tasks requested are described in each client's tailored care plan, with a goal of supporting their independence and improving their safety and well-being, while also providing their ohana with peace of mind.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Grooming (e.g., assistance with bathing, hair/skin care)
Ambulation and transfers (e.g., mobility assistance from one place to another such as getting in/out of bed, chair, car, etc.)
Companionship (e.g., talking, playing board games, walking, scrapbooking, correspondence)
Light housekeeping (e.g., sweep, mop, or vacuum floors, wash dishes, clean sinks/toilets/surfaces)
Laundry (e.g., change and wash bedding, towels, and/or clothing)
Running errands (e.g., pick up prescriptions, grocery shopping)
Escorting to doctor's appointments or social activities
Light meal preparation (e.g., cooking, warming, or assembling meals)

Essential Skills:
Able to lift 40 pounds (we provide training and gait belts)
Able to prepare simple meals (we provide training if needed)
Able to demonstrate appropriate cleaning techniques for a home environment (we provide additional training if needed)
Capable of working independently and/or with a team
Educational Background/Knowledge/Prior Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Nurse aide (N/A) designation from a state-approved course is required (we provide opportunities to shadow anexperienced caregiver; OJT; online/on-demand webinars)
CNA license is a plus.
