Ho`ōla Lāhui Hawai`i is a FQHC, non-profit community health organization serving underserved adults and children throughout the county of Kaua'i. We are seeking a full-time primary care medical provider (MD/DO/APRN/NP) to serve our community at our medical clinic.

Primary Duties

The staff provider is under the direct supervision of the Medical Director. Our providers are participants in, and leaders of, the health care team which works to support the health and care of patients at Ho`ōla Lāhui Hawai`i.

Job Duties

Provide direct patient care in accordance with standard medical practice.

Maintain current licensure and certifications as appropriate.

Coordinate Activities of clinic staff, as needed and as requested. Provide support, guidance, and training to staff as required.

Assist in QI/QA activities of Ho'ōla as assigned, and work with other providers and staff to promote continuous quality improvement.

Supervise medical students, resident physicians and other health professionals at the health center as assigned.

Participate in and provide direction and supervision to HLH programs and projects as agreed upon and discussed with the Medical Director.

Assist the Medical Director in establishing and implementing goals, objectives and policies and procedures of our community health center.

Ensure compliance with regulations, HLH policies and procedures, and clinic standards of quality patient care.

Work all assigned clinic hours and meet any and all agreed-upon productivity expectations.

Complete all documentation, including patient charges, in a timely fashion, per clinic policies. HLH utilizes an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Cover different medical clinics within Ho'ōla Lāhui Hawai'i as needed.

Participate in minimal after-hours telephone call coverage.

Skills, Knowledge, Education, Training and Experience

Cultural sensitivity to our many Hawai'i cultures is important in assisting the needs of our patients. Applicants should have an unrestricted Hawai'i professional license, Hawai'i DEA/NED, and have completed training in a primary care specialty area.

Required: Must be licensed to practice medicine and prescribe in the state of Hawaii. Must meet current CME

requirements for licensure. Ability to work with multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-lingual and low English proficiency patients. Participates or eligible to participate with the majority of health care plans accepted at HLH.

Preferred: Experience in community-based services and interest in traditional healing - specifically Native Hawaiian. Board-Certified or Board-eligible.
