Site Counselor – Supporting Youth Through School-Based Prevention & Treatment
Location: East Honolulu Tuesday through Friday & Kaneohe on Saturdays
Salary: $60,000–$65,000
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, daytime
Are you passionate about helping teens and making a lasting impact in your community? Hina Mauka Teen CARE is seeking a caring, motivated Site Counselor to provide year-round, school-based substance use prevention and treatment services to adolescents in Honolulu/Kaneohe.

Hina Mauka is a leading nonprofit dedicated to fostering hope and healing for individuals with substance use and behavioral health challenges. For over 50 years, we’ve provided prevention, treatment, and recovery support services across Oʻahu and Kauaʻi.
What You’ll Do
As a Site Counselor, you’ll provide year-round adolescent substance use prevention and treatment to adolescents on-site in a school setting.
Build strong, trusting relationships with youth
Provide individual, group, and family counseling
Conduct screenings, assessments, and develop treatment plans
Coordinate care, including referrals and case management
Teach evidence-based prevention curriculum in classrooms
Deliver school and community presentations
Support social media campaigns and outreach events
Collaborate with school staff and community partners
What We’re Looking For
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health (or equivalent experience)
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean abstract
Ability to pass a background check and work with youth
Preferred:
CSAC, CPS, or mental health credential (or willingness to obtain)
Experience working with adolescents and/or in prevention or treatment
Schedule: Primarily daytime hours, with occasional evening events
