We are seeking a Medical Assistant / Surgical Tech for our award-winning Oculofacial Plastic Surgery practice.We treat patients with cosmetic and functional concerns of the eyelids, face, and eye socket.We perform a broad range of facial surgeries and non-surgical procedures like botulinum toxin injections, fillers, and laser skin rejuvenation.
The ideal candidate must be caring, professional, self-motivated, a quick learner, good at multi-tasking, perform well under pressure, an excellent communicator, interested in aesthetics, and willing to assist in clinic and surgery.You will play an important role in providing patient-centered care with the highest level of customer service and will join a team that is hard-working, fun, and passionate about our work.

Clinic Responsibilities:
·Perform patient intakes and obtain medical history
·Perform testing such as vision, pupils, intraocular pressure, and ocular motility
·Take facial photos
·Medical documentation and scribing in EMR
·Maintain medical records, photos, billing, coding, and insurance info
·Assist with clinic procedures (e.g. biopsies, botox, lasers, and fillers)
·Assist with removing sutures or staples
·Maintain medical supplies inventory
·Explain procedures, medications, and instructions to patients
·Cross-train to help with administrative activities like answering phones, scheduling
Surgical Responsibilities
·Assist with surgeries under supervision of surgeon and circulating nurse
·Set up procedure room or operating room
·Prepare patients for surgery
·Pass instruments to surgeon, retract, cut sutures, and count needles and instruments
·Assist with purchasing and instrument sterilization
·Operate, assemble, adjust, and monitor surgical equipment
Qualifications and Experience:
· College degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) preferred.
· 1-2 years experience as a MA, ophthalmic tech, or surgical tech preferred
· Pre-med or Pre-PA is a plus
·Previous experience in Oculoplastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, or Dermatology preferred
·Experience with EMR (electronic medical records) and medical terminology
·Any experience with photography, social media, aesthetician services, and foreign languages are a plus.
