POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Asst. Store Manager or Dispatcher, the Battery Warehouse/Delivery Person receives and checks incoming batteries and cores, stocks or re-stocks shelves with batteries received, and performs delivery service to customer bases. The Battery Warehouse/Delivery Person performs inventory control functions as directed by manager and assists in maintaining clean and orderly working environment in warehouse where batteries are stored.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Checks in batteries and notes shipping discrepancies.

2. Stocks shelves with incoming batteries.

3. Fills battery orders and packs as necessary.

4. Uses company vehicle to deliver batteries, parts and equipment to customers in a safe and courteous manner.

5. Performs all delivery duties using safe driving habits, including defensive driving skills.

6. Picks up returns at customer’s place of business.

7. Cleans and maintains delivery vehicles and warehouse in a safe and orderly condition.

8. Performs routine maintenance checks on company vehicles.

9. Performs assigned bin and cycle counts.

10. Participates in safety meetings.

11. Attends store meetings scheduled by management.

12. Participates in available training as discussed with store manager.

13. Checks battery consignments when assigned salesperson is on vacation.

14. Observes company work and safety rules in the performance of all duties.

15. Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

16. Completes all other duties as assigned including assisting in the warehouse and preparing orders for delivery.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

2. Must be at least 18 years old.

3. Must be dependable and punctual.

4. Must successfully complete forklift certification process.

5. Must train on how to properly lift batteries, contain spills, and handle exposure to battery acid.

6. Ability to work in a team environment and a positive attitude required.

7. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

8. A valid Driver’s License with a good driving record required.

9. Must own a cell phone. If eligible, reimbursement will be made according to our Bring Your Own Device program.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Walking: Moves about on foot often up and down stairs.

2. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.

3. Lifting: Raises or lowers batteries up to 50lbs, asking for assistance with heavier units.

4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.

5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.

6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.

7. Vision: Reads paperwork and records on the computer.

8. Talking: Communications by phone and in person.

9. Sitting: Sits in vehicle for extended periods.

10. Lifting: Up to 60 lbs. daily, frequent exertion.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.

2. Temp/Weather: Works in a warehouse environment.
