We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Greenhouse/Nursery worker to join our team. This individual will be vital part of our plant production team by helping to maintain optimal orchid & plant health. A successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in general greenhouse maintenance and care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Maintain proper care of greenhouse stock through transplanting & propagation.
· Assist in watering, fertilizing, weeding and moving of orchid plants.
· Learn to identify plant pest problems for insect control.
· Maintain a log of propagation, location & inventory of plants.
· Provide general cleaning assistance in greenhouse facilities.
· Perform other duties & assignments as directed by supervisor.
Position Schedule Details: 1) Full-time (5 days/week)
2) Typical Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm
3) Days Scheduled: Sunday-Thursday
A part-time position is also available with flexibility on the days noted above. Please apply if you are interested but are only available for a part-time position.
Minimum Education:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Must have at least 2 years nursery work experience or equivalent.
Qualifications:
· Physical effort required in lifting at least 30lbs of plant material.
· Be able to work in an outdoor environment, standing for long periods of time.
· Prior knowledge of horticulture & proper maintenance of orchids is a plus.
· He/she must be able to effectively take direction & manage time efficiently.
· The ability to work in a group setting as well as independently is necessary.
· Strong oral communication skills is essential.
