Job Description:
We are seeking experienced landscapers to join our team at Otsuka Farm. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining the farm’s landscape and garden areas. This part-time position requires you to work 2-3 times a week, with a monthly salary of $1000. There is potential for a raise based on performance and tenure with the job.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including lawnmowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, chainsaws, poison pumps, and other gardening tools.
Perform regular lawn care, including mowing, edging, and aeration.
Prune and maintain various types of trees, shrubs, and hedges.
Plant and care for flowers, vegetables, and ornamental plants.
Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides safely and effectively.
Maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper watering of all landscaped areas.
Dispose of green waste and debris in an environmentally responsible manner.
Perform soil preparation, planting, and mulching.
Identify and address plant diseases and pest problems.
Ensure pathways, driveways, and other areas are kept clean and presentable.
Assist with landscape design and improvement projects.
Requirements:
Prior landscaping experience is required.
Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment.
Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Ability to provide a resume is preferred but not mandatory.
Must provide 2-3 examples of prior work history.
Must provide 2-3 references for us to contact.
Compensation:
Initial trial work period: $80 per day.
If standards are met during the trial period, a 2-month probationary period will follow, with a full monthly salary of $1000.
Potential for a raise based on performance and length of service.
Schedule:
Work 2-3 times a week.
