A local geotechnical engineering consulting firm is looking for entry-level candidates as a full-time field/laboratory technician on Oahu and Kauai. Duties include observing site grading, excavation, soil filling and backfilling, and compaction, performing field as well as laboratory compaction tests, performing inspection of concrete.
Minimum requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Know how to read basic construction plans or strong desire to learn
- Basic math and Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and other applicable laws and regulations
- Possess a valid Hawaii Driver's License with clean abstract
- Good attitude and able to work as part of a team and/or independently
- Respectful, positive attitude. Trustworthy and dependable
- Lift and carry 50+ lbs
- Able to travel to neighbor islands
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background screening to obtain government security clearance (military bases)
