TEMPORARY REAL PROPERTY CARETAKER
Owner seeking a temporary live-in caretaker to preserve, protect and perpetuate a unique property on Kauai. The ideal candidate is hard-working, self-directed, energetic, intuitive, and honest. The candidate must have the ability to learn how to operate machinery and follow procedures. Generally, the caretaker will work alone or with a companion caretaker and have verbal and written communication skills to direct the work of outside contractors.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
Position Summary
Responsible for looking after assets, individuals, and properties at the request of the property owner. Care for buildings and grounds of specific properties and reside at an off the grid property on Kauai.
General Description of Temporary Resident Caretaker Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Regularly inspect all buildings and grounds to include Main House, Caretakers House and Guest House to identify needed maintenance and repairs.
2. Monitoring the electrical photovoltaic, satellite internet and water system daily.
3. Grounds maintenance to include mowing and administering grass/weed herbicide of all roads and the perimeters of all buildings.
4. Vehicle and equipment maintenance of all vehicles on property to include a truck, ATVs, mowers, tractor, and excavator.
5. Maintain security of property by checking beaches for trespassers daily.
6. General house cleaning and stocking of supplies (SOP to be provided for guidance).
7. Manage reservation calendar.
8. Have weekly meetings with the owner with an agenda to be decided each week and write a monthly report.
9. Perform other miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Valid driver’s license.
2. Able to operate or willing to learn how to operate ATVs, tractor and excavator.
3. Resume or job history along with both personal and work-related references.
4. Able to operate and perform basic computer functions.
