Job Title: Jewelry Production Artist
Position Type: 1099 Self-Employed
Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented, and motivated artist with a keen eye for detail to join our jewelry production team. This is a “piecework” position, where you will be responsible for performing specific tasks within the jewelry-making process. While you won't be creating the entire piece from start to finish, you'll be handling individual, repetitive parts of the jewelry making process that require precision and a steady hand. Pay is competitive, and your earnings increase the more pieces you produce, offering the potential to earn more based on your speed and efficiency.
About the Company:
A quickly growing locally owned handmade jewelry company located in Kaneohe whose mission is to donate earnings towards nonprofits and charities that focus on ocean sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed tasks within the jewelry production process (such as polishing, painting, sanding, assembly, or other components).
Maintain high standards of quality and consistency for each piece.
Meet reasonable deadlines for completing batches of work.
Work independently and efficiently on assigned tasks.
Requirements:
A steady hand and the ability to work with small, intricate objects.
Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality, consistent results.
Some experience in art, craft-making, or similar hands-on work is preferred, but applicants without direct experience will still be considered if they possess the skills and inclination for fine, detailed work.
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
Willingness to attend a couple of short training sessions to learn the specifics of the work.
Ability to meet-up/pick-up/drop-off raw pieces and completed work.
What You Can Expect During Training:
You will learn the skill and technique needed during a portion of the production process. You’ll have the opportunity to discover your personal work speed and determine how quickly or slowly you can complete tasks. The faster you work, the greater your potential to increase your earnings per hour, as piecework is directly tied to the number of units produced. Once your skill level is consistent and to par, you may take the piecework home with you and work independently.
Ideal Candidates:
Individuals seeking additional side work or flexible hours.
Those with a natural interest in art, crafts, or jewelry making.
Independent, motivated individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy tasks that
require attention to detail.
Compensation:
This is a self-contracted “piecework” position, meaning that compensation/paychecks are calculated by multiplying the fixed pay rate by the number of units produced. Hired employees will be required to fill out a W-9 Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification Form.
How to Apply:
Please send a short bio with a statement of interest. In your message, let us know why you’d be a good fit for the role, or tell us about any relevant experience or skills you have. We’re excited to find someone who’s motivated to work with their hands and produce beautiful, detailed work!
