Boys to Men Mentoring Hawai'i is a non-profit group mentoring program. We mentor middle and high school boys in a group and in-school setting. We support the boys to become the men they want to be and the men our families and communities need.
BTMH is seeking male mentors to be part of a group mentoring program. A Lead Mentor facilitates a group of up to 12 boys and 3 or 4 mentors. Mentoring sessions are held during school hours or after school on weekdays. Sessions are 45-75 minutes, once per week. During the group mentoring sessions we have discussion topics, experiential activities, and plain old fun!
We are seeking male mentors for our in-school programs at Kohala Middle School, Waimea Middle School, Honoka'a High School, Waikōloa Middle School, Konawaena Middle School, and Pāhoa Middle School.
The most important qualifications are a willingness to share your life experiences and listen to the boys. We share our stories so the boys can make better decisions for their own lives.
We require consistent participation in at least 2 mentoring sessions per month. Mentors are compensated $50 per weekly session they attend. A free mentor training is provided. Mentors are not employees of BTMH and are considered independent contractors, taxes and other withholdings are the individual’s responsibility. A background check will be conducted.
We are also seeking volunteer Supporters and members for our Board of Directors of all genders. Supporters assist with out-of-school event coordination and participation. BOD members provide guidance for our State-wide organization.
