Director of Senior Services/Executive Director – Windward Senior Day Care Center (Kailua, HI), a trusted nonprofit in Kailua, is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead our senior day care program. We're looking for someone with empathy for elder care, leadership experience, and a strong background in nonprofit management, fundraising, or healthcare.
Key responsibilities: Oversee programs, staff, community partnerships, and finances.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in public health, business management or equivalent work experience, 5+ years of nonprofit/healthcare leadership, success in fundraising and compliance. Experience supervising professional staff. Working knowledge of human resource regulations. Proficient user of computers and software. Ability to work effectively with participants and their families, staff and volunteers.

The Executive Director (ED) spearheads all aspects of WSDCC as the chief executive, reporting directly to the Board Chair. This visionary leader orchestrates operations, staff leadership, program development, finances, fundraising, and community outreach. The ED forges a close partnership with the Board of Directors and drives strategic initiatives to expand enrollment, strengthen financial stability, and amplify community impact.
Administrative and Human Resources responsibilities include:
▪ Manage participant schedules and attendance
Manage staff schedule and timecard maintenance
Prepare monthly tuition invoices
Maintain program contacts
Maintain partnering contracts
Maintain/ensure staff are up to date on certifications
▪ Maintain HR files
Maintain office files
Create and distribute marketing materials
Hire and process new staff members
Leadership & Strategic Planning responsibilities include:
Position the organization and its programs to maximize fund development opportunities; solicit key donor sectors in support of the organization’s fundraising goals
Provide leadership in developing strategic plans for future growth, including Chapter Board development, committees and staff to ensure timely and responsible decision-making
Develop current operating plans and budgets
Represent the organization at public events, conferences, workshops and media
events, attend senior service fairs
Maintain an organization climate that attracts, motivates and retains high quality
staff by implementing appropriate human resource policies and procedures
Assure compliance with all organizational standards, policies and applicable
regulatory requirements
Communication between all appropriate parties
Communicate with family members, potential participants’ and their families
Ensure coordination and teamwork between caregiving, activities, and food
program staff
Communicate with partnering agencies
Organize and/or attend staff, board, and community meetings
Grants, Funding, and Financial Aid
Able to research and apply for such opportunities, experienced at grant-writing and reporting
Maintain membership with nonprofit groups and societies that participate in such opportunities
Licensing and Policies
Understand and maintain the facility in all aspects of licensing
Maintain and implement procedures in accordance with the center’s licensure
(Community Ties) and regulations (Department of Health)
Expectations
Knowledgeable in elderly care/caregiving
Knowledgeable in grant writing, and in researching and conducting fundraising
Able to maintain CPR/AED certifications, annual physical exams and TB tests
Basic computer skills and able to utilize Microsoft Office
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to operate office equipment
High level of integrity, diplomacy and initiative
Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
