EMOTIONAL WELLNESS SPECIALIST

Now Hiring: Emotional Wellness Specialist

(Aka: Heart Listener, Vibe Checker, Youth Advocate)

Full-Time | Based on Maui | Reports to the Director of Emotional Wellness

Let’s get real — this isn’t just a job. It’s a calling.

If you believe that emotional wellness is as vital as physical health

If you're the kind of person who can sense when something's “off” — and knows how to show up with support, not judgment

If you're passionate about helping young people feel seen, safe, and strong

We want to meet you.

We’re Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui, and we’re on the hunt for an Emotional Wellness Specialist who’s equal parts mentor, program designer, and youth whisperer.

What You’ll Be Doing (besides changing lives on the daily):

Creating and running social-emotional learning (SEL) programs that are engaging and culturally relevant.

Connecting one-on-one with youth who are struggling and helping them build the skills to thrive.

Working with Club staff and families to understand what’s really going on when behavior gets tough.

Leading conflict resolution with compassion, not punishment.

Training our team to respond with empathy, strength, and real tools (not just “take a deep breath” vibes).

Keeping detailed records and tracking impact — because data + heart = real change.

Supporting grant reporting, program development, and all the behind-the-scenes magic that makes it possible.

Who You Are:

A grounded, compassionate human with a strong background in mental health, social work, or counseling.

Someone who can really listen — and then help youth feel empowered to take the next step.

You’re calm in a crisis, honest in a tough conversation, and hopeful even when the road is rocky.

You believe that every young person has value — especially the ones who are hard to reach.

You respect confidentiality, understand trauma, and know how to navigate systems without losing the personal connection.

What You Need:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.

Experience working with youth — especially in community-based or educational settings.

Skills in case management, SEL, behavior intervention, or restorative practices.

Solid communication chops and the ability to work across teams.

You know your way around Word and Excel — because changing the world still comes with paperwork.

Valid driver’s license — you'll be Clubhouse-hopping across Maui.

A heart for youth. A head for strategy. And the ability to hold space for both.

What You’ll Love:

Being part of a mission-first team that believes in youth potential.

The chance to co-create programs that change lives.

A workplace where emotional wellness isn’t a buzzword — it’s built into our culture.

Days that may be messy, magical, meaningful — and never, ever boring.
