We're excited to announce two opportunities to join the Waipā Foundation team in our Cultural Foodways Program. We're seeking individuals who share our values and are eager to contribute to our mission.
Current Openings:
Jr. Alakaʻi / Driver Position
This entry-level role is perfect for a motivated individual who embraces lifelong learning! You'll be:
Driving our Kawasaki Mule (5 pax) through the ahupuaʻa
Share knowledge about Waipāʻs work, `āina, and other program content
Serve fresh dishes featuring ahupuaʻa-grown ingredients
Supporting cultural and hands-on activities
Helping maintain our gathering spaces and facilities
Working alongside experienced team members to welcome visitors
Prep Cook Position Under our chef's supervision, you'll be:
Preparing ingredients, cooking, and plating dishes for tastings and lunch
Managing kitchen and food supplies
Maintaining our kitchen space
Potentially harvesting from our gardens and lo`i and handling post-harvest processing
Both positions offer:
18 hrs weekly
Starting Pay: $22/hour
Optional Monday harvest hours available for Prep Cook position
We're looking for team members who:
Have a positive, can-do attitude
Work well both independently and with others
Are motivated and focused
Share a connection to Waipā and our mission
Have food service experience (preferred for Prep Cook position)
