PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This is a grant funded position. Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, this position is responsible for developing and facilitating social-emotional learning programs to support mental health for youth. It also provides guidance and resources for wellness initiatives and works directly with young people who may be at risk or in need aiming to enhance their safety and increase protective factors.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

1. Ensure quality delivery of services supported by grant designed to support overall wellness and prepare youth for success.

2. Engage youth individually and in small groups consistently, utilizing evidence-based practices that are culturally responsive and trauma-informed.

3. Develop and implement social-emotional skills to address behavioral or performance issues through personalized success plans.

4. Provide crisis intervention training and resources as necessary.

5. Facilitate conflict resolution among youth. Collaborate with parents and staff to identify root cause of distress of child and provide guidance.

6. Monitor and evaluate behavior referrals. Support program staff to implement effective behavior management practices.

7. Coordinate social-emotional learning efforts to address members' unmet needs.

8. Maintain comprehensive records and uphold confidentiality standards.

9. Ensure program quality improvement through ongoing monitoring and evaluation.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field.

Experience working in a youth serving organization with and emphasis on planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people preferred.

Thorough knowledge of youth development theory and managing behaviors and motivating children and teens.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Ability to keep records and information confidential.

Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook.

Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
