STEADFAST HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION incorporated as a non-profit entity in 1989 and combined experts in housing and behavioral health services to provide an independent living housing program for adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses. The main office is located on Oahu. We are actively recruiting for a full-time (40 hours/week) Residential Specialist within our Supported Housing Program on the island of Maui with an annual salary of $40,000 and great benefits!

a. The first 2 years, employee can accrue up to 2 weeks vac and 2 weeks sick leave each year. This increases to 3 weeks each in year 3 and 4 weeks each in year 4 and up.

What do you have to do?
a) Completes regular face-to-face meetings with assigned Maui clients each month to complete regular programmatic paperwork.
b) Schedules, coordinates, and facilitates housing opportunities for eligible consumers through housing development activities.
c) Assists eligible consumers to secure and maintain affordable housing.
d) Provide housing advocacy and other supportive services to Ohana CCS/AMHD’s targeted population that are authorized.
e) Help mediate landlord/tenant issues.
f) Provide follow-up services to consumers in maintaining their homes and providing periodic in-home visits.
g) Provides regular encouragement to consumers.
h) Assists consumers to apply and/or transition to other types of “long-term” housing assistance such as Section 8, Rent Supplement, or Public Housing.
i) Complete intake assessments with all new incoming program referrals.
j) Meet contract expectations with the guidance of the supervisor and program administrator.
NOTE: This is a work-from-home position with hours typically 8am to 5pm Mondays through Fridays. If hired, the position will use company equipment (laptop, cell phone, printer/fax, internet card etc) and cabinet drawers needed to set up a small office space in your home. Most duties/tasks are out in the field meeting clients in the community on Maui. Mileage reimbursement is also provided. There is also a $100 monthly stipend allotted for operating from home.
What do you need to qualify for the job?
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferably in the social sciences or human services field. High school diploma or GED may be permitted under careful consideration.
A valid Hawaii Driver's License and a clean driver’s abstract with no more than 3 violations within the last 3 years.
At least one (1) year experience working with the “special needs” population is desired.
Some experience in real estate preferred.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Available to provide 24/7 on-call support and response.
Position requires use of own personal automobile with current registration, safety check and insurance. Mileage reimbursement allotted to employee when traveling for work purposes.
