WOMEN HELPING WOMEN is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Shelter Advocate (Weekend Day Shift)
This position is summarized as follows:
To assist shelter residents in accessing legal, health and community resources, to encourage the development of self-esteem, parenting skills, etc. and to support overall program philosophy statement and policies of Women Helping Women.
Duties include answering the 24-hour domestic violence hotline, handling crisis calls, providing in-person services to shelter residents, maintaining client files and activity logs, and other assigned duties
Position details include:
16 hours per week: Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00am to 3:00pm
$18.00 per hour; semi-monthly pay periods
position reports to Deputy Director
located at Women Helping Women's Upcountry shelter
Benefits include: retirement account (403b plan with 3% WHW base contribution, generous PTO/paid time off (4 hours accrued twice a month, starting with first pay period) and weekend worker holiday policy (3.2 hours of holiday pay added each pay period when there's a State holiday except election day).
Requirements for this job include:
High School Diploma or GED
Must be willing to undergo criminal history background check and child welfare services background check (only required after job offer is made and not all results are barriers to employment; WHW does not do credit history checks)
