MCR is seeking a part-time tour guide for the sinkhole and cave complex. Candidates should have knowledge of, or a willingness to learn, aspects of the area’s geology, history, biology, and culture training is provided.
Job entails explaining the cave and environs to the public 3.5 hours a day, two or
three days per week, and takes place outdoors, protected from sun and rain.
The Reserve is located on one of the longest undeveloped stretches of the island’s coast. The job requires a 5-10-minute walk to the cave. Salary is competitive, with good advancement potenial.
Makauwahi Cave Reserve is a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation, study, and interpretation of Hawai`i’s richest fossil site and the location of a unique program of biocultural restoration on the south shore of Kaua`i near Po`ipu Beach.
