The Hawaii Restaurant Association (HRA) is expanding and seeking two Hybrid Event / Expo / Trade Show Project Coordinators — highly organized, detail-oriented professionals who are passionate about serving Hawaiʻi’s dynamic foodservice industry.
Due to an increase in statewide projects and the upcoming 2026 Hawaii Restaurant Association Foodservice Expo, we’re growing our team! This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in high-impact events and initiatives that support and elevate Hawaiʻi’s restaurant and foodservice community.

Position Overview
Hybrid Work Structure:
70–80% Remote (Work from your home office)
20–30% In-Person (Weekly meetings, 8+ events per year, errands)
Must reside on Oʻahu and maintain a professional home workspace.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday
Part-Time: 30 hours/week | Full-Time: 40 hours/week
Between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Occasional evenings/weekends (advance notice provided)
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-level administrative and project coordination support
Manage emails, calls, and inquiries professionally
Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and track deadlines
Draft reports, minutes, board agendas, and communications
Assist with event planning, logistics, and follow-ups
Represent HRA at select events
Maintain organized digital filing systems
Consistently present a positive, professional demeanor
Qualifications
Prior experience as an Event, Expo, or Trade Show Project Coordinator preferred
Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Zoom
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized, proactive, and dependable
Able to work independently and collaboratively
Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
Requirements
Must live on Oʻahu
Quiet home office with reliable Wi-Fi
Laptop computer
Cell phone
Reliable automobile (mileage reimbursed for work-related travel)
High school diploma required; executive assistant training a plus
Fluent in English
Employment Details
Status: Independent Contractor
Schedule: Full-Time & Part-Time positions available
Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: Based on experience (hourly or project-based)
Location: Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi (Hybrid)
