PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To put together and direct transportation of delivery schedules based on customer’s orders and pre-set routes for the entire fleet of company owned and leased vehicles
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily tracking of delivery trucks (tractor/straight) while adjusting schedules during the day as needed due to traffic, customer, and manufacturer’s needs.
Daily routing review and adjustment of the loads and deliveries as necessary.
Oversight of loading sequences for all commodities into trucks for deliveries.
Work directly with Branch Manager and Warehouse Lead to run operations efficiently.
Perform physical warehouse/truck functions as needed to insure all deadlines and customer demands are met daily.
Escalate unresolved and recurring issues to the Branch Manager
Monitoring driver’s performance on a “ride along”, reviewing time stops, paperwork accuracy, and credit completion.
Performs other duties as required or assigned. Driver availability (or lack of) might require dispatcher to do deliveries to reduce customer complaints and reduce “re-deliveiries”
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
CDL license required. Work experience could “compensate” for no CDL but would be evaluated at time of hiring process.
WORK HOURS:
Work hours are normally 5 AM to 2 PM Monday through Friday. However, hours may fluctuate based on project and specific activity requirements. Weekend work may be required.
