JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and self-motivated team player to join our team as a Seasonal Sales Associate on a contractor basis for the months of November and December. The ideal candidate brings a passion for local products, a love of hospitality, and a desire to create memorable guest experiences during the busy holiday season.
Working closely with our retail management team, the Seasonal Sales Associate will support operations at Lonohana’s retail locations in Kaka‘ako and Waikīkī, assisting guests with chocolate selections, maintaining beautifully merchandised displays, and ensuring a smooth, welcoming store experience. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people and sharing the story behind our Hawai‘i-grown, tree-to-bar chocolate.

Lonohana Estate Chocolate is a locally owned tree-to-bar chocolate company creating high-quality, fine finished chocolate exclusively using cacao that is 100% Hawaiʻi-grown. Our mission is to help advance & revitalize the agricultural economy here in Hawaiʻi by growing cacao responsibly, respecting the ecosystem and restoring the ʻāina through regenerative agroforestry on our cacao farm on the North Shore.

Key Responsibilities
Greet and engage customers, sharing the story of Hawai‘i-grown and made chocolate and offering product sampling.
Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently, processing cash, card, and room charge transactions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting retail environment, including merchandising, restocking, and general upkeep.
Promote awareness of Lonohana Chocolate Factory Tours in Kaka‘ako.
Ensure merchandise presentation aligns with Lonohana’s brand standards.
Motivated to meet and exceed daily sales goals while maintaining a positive customer experience.
Communicate clearly with team members via Slack regarding inventory, shop updates, and operations.
Qualifications
Prior retail, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred
Energetic, dependable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Able to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the management team
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Genuine enthusiasm for local, artisan products
Must be available to work 6-8 hour shifts between 8:45 AM - 9:15 PM, including Thanksgiving and Christmas day.
