Farm/Harvest Assistance Needed Growing Micros, Herbs and Flowers in Honaunau on Mon and Thur

We are mainly looking for Mon Thur position on farm.
You can combine farm and other positions schedule to create either full time or part time position. Once set, your schedule won't change. You will have the hours you need. We are hiring people to add to good existing teams.
The Farm Harvest is a part time position located in Honaunau
Must be avail promptly 7 AM to 2 PM on Mon and Thursday on farm
Other days can be added to that schedule.
Help is especially needed in growing micros, edible flowers and medicinal/culinary herbs
We are a food hub that only distributes locally grown crops. You will be part of a team that is developing a local resilient food system. We are a steadily growing company with many potential opportunities not listed here.
Farm Assistance is needed to grow microgreens, edible flowers,culinary herbs and medicinal plants such as awa ,passion vine and turmeric. This involves harvesting, processing/packing, seeding, carrying and refilling trays, composting and careful watering. Previous experience in growing micros and farming in Hawaii is a plus.
You should be able to harvest quickly, plant efficiently and stay focused or your crop. These skills are usually developed by having experience with commercial organic farming.
Once that is accomplished there may be opportunities to work with herbs, medicinal plants and vegetables. Ability to use a weedeater and backpack sprayer could also be very useful. Carpentry and small project cement work skills would be useful but are not required. Ability and willingness to learn about organic botanical and biological (living organism) sprays, keep good paper records (for certified organic documentation) and manage a crop from seed to harvest is important.
Farm Position is in Honaunau. You should already live within 1/2 hour driving distance and have a vehicle. Please do not contact if currently are living out of the region. We also are not offering living space.
For part time applicants, potential exists for more days and hours. If you are motivated and gain skills easily, more opportunities may develop. Full time positions in our organization include health benefits. If part time works out well, there is a potential to develop into a full time position.
You will need dependable transportation, a phone; care for quality; willingness to learn and ability to communicate well when working with other people.
Appreciation of quality organic food and its relation to the local food movement should be valued by you.
This position is good for a person who wants to understand how to make their living by growing plants and develop their skills over a medium term.It is also good for a person that enjoys horticulture. It requires strength and energy and is not good for retired people or people with existing physical health issues.

There will be a three week trial period. You will be evaluated on reliability, ability to work with others, your overall interest in the position and how energetic you are during the trial period. After the trial period a plan that provides a steady increase in compensation will be developed
