SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting with operational tasks that enable Kilihau Warehouse management to efficiently operate warehouse functions and provide necessary support to various Retail and Contract locations by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Load and unload truck with bins, cages or totes for transport.

Responsible for safely operating the lift-gate when up-loading and down-loading bins, cages, totes and loose donations.

Coordinates load movements with truck driver and co-workers.

Responsible for the safe and proper operation of various forklifts and hopper to empty bins of redemption and trash.

Responsible for the safe and proper operation of trash compactor and balers.

Organizes bins, cages, totes effectively utilizing space in/out of the warehouse.

Keeps outside and inside areas clean, neat and organized.

Organize all metal furniture, bale, dump and redemption items in designated areas.

Load 20’ to 40’ containers with bales of textile.

Must be able to communicate effectively with Logistics Manager and Transportation Supervisor to ensure efficient operation of warehouse functions.

Weigh redemption bins from various locations accurately.

Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner at all times, utilizing protective clothing and equipment and complies with safety standards.

Other duties as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

There are no education and/or experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to read, print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to judge garment quality.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATIONS

A valid driver's license (type 3) is preferred, but not required. Must be able to obtain a traffic abstract that meets company guidelines, a forklift certification (or be able to obtain), pass a functional capacity exam (FCE), and be 21 years of age. Must retain HDL and forklift certification card on their person at all time while working if applicable.

The employee must frequently lift up to 50lbs and maneuver wheeled containers weighing up to 300 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Regular Attendance is a requirement of this position. Core work hours are between Monday-Sunday ,8:30 am-7:30 pm, including holidays, to meet the needs of retail operations. Staff may be scheduled up to 2 hours before store opening and up to 2 hours after store closing to meet business need. Travel is not required.
