Part Time and full time positions available for our two locations in Paia. The all new Paia Mercantile, and our sister store, The Mermaid Inn. We are looking for someone to grow with us, possibly into a management position as we add new locations this year!!
We are very busy retail stores with lots of great gifts at affordable prices! Our stores shine and are known for the repeat customers we have each year. Our staff is friendly and we practice Aloha daily. We are looking for some great LONG TERM applicants to keep our customers coming back every year! Our company is growing, adding additional locations and opportunity for other positions in the future.
Skills Desired:
*Familiar with computer sales and credit card processing
*Cash counting and handling cash under pressure - reconciling cash daily
*Excellent customer service skills (references a must!)
*Previous retail experience (not required for PT positions)
*Merchandising knowledge and willingness to learn
*Inventory Control and Stocking - possibly ordering with vendors and attending trade shows
*Lifting up to 20 lbs. and using a stepladder
*History of exceeding sales goals and quotas (references)
*References and dependability
Requirements:
*Holiday, weekend (at least 1 weekend day) and early evening hours - we are open 7 days a week and most holidays, 10am to 7pm.
*Friendly, honest, team player with flexible hours and a team spirit!
*Cleaning and dusting thoroughly, remerchandising product
*Prior work history with references including dependability and hourly rate of pay, reason for leaving
*Willingness to be trained and take on store responsibilities including stocking, ordering, cleaning, and greeting customers without constant supervision or "nudging"
There are at least TWO positions available, one full time and one part time. We will happily train the right person with an amazing attitude! Owner operated and family friendly. Flexibles schedules. If you are looking for a few hours extra each week in addition to another job, please APPLY!
Minimum starting pay is $13-14 per hour to start, depending on experience for the first 90 days. Frequent sales promotions and bonuses provide the opportunity to make up to $15-$19 per hour. Our permanent, FT positions offer paid vacation and holiday pay. Health benefits negotiable. Huge employee discount benefit!!
