OUR COMPANY:

Lonohana Estate Chocolate is one of Hawaii’s leading tree-to-bar chocolate makers, passionate about creating high-quality, Hawaii-grown artisanal chocolate products. We grow cacao on the North Shore and produce our chocolate using traditional methods at our factory in Kaka’ako.

Through our tree to bean to bar enterprise we are helping restore Hawaiiʻs ʻāina through regenerative agroforestry while contributing to a sustainable and equitable industry for Hawaiʻi. At our factory in Honolulu we share with guests how world-class chocolate is being grown & made right here in Hawaii.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a professional, self-motivated and enthusiastic team player to join our team and work full-time as our Wholesale Sales Manager. The ideal candidate will have a passion for local food (hopefully chocolate) with previous experience in sales with a drive to meet and beat ambitious sales targets. You will take over responsibilities for our current wholesale account relationships and are expected to lead all aspects of establishing and growing new opportunities.

We are a small but growing company and this position requires someone who is flexible, a self-starter, enjoys working with others, and someone who knows how to multitask and problem solve. Having a sense of urgency and delivering the highest quality of customer service is essential. While based out of the factory this position requires a lot of time in-person with clients, occasional nights and weekends but also allows for some remote administrative tasks.

REQUIREMENTS:

● Proven experience in field marketing, sales, or promotional roles, preferably within the food or beverage industry.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.

● Strong organizational skills to plan and execute sales strategy.

● Enthusiastic and passionate about promoting locally made products and able to convey this enthusiasm to customers.

● Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed for events and promotions.

● Personal transportation and a valid driver's license

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Maintain relationships with existing customers and expand availability of both current and new products through regular account visits and on-location events

● Identify new and prospective customers, make sales calls, host customers at the factory, ensure that product deliveries, merchandising and ongoing service is excellent

● Be extremely well-organized and programmatic about helping Lonohana achieve its sales goals

● Work closely with the marketing and direct sales teams to enhance product offerings and collaborate towards overall team targets

● Work creatively with Lonohana’s founders to expand the vision of what the company can achieve including new product development

● Communicate with relevant team members about inventory and production status

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Cell phone (iPhone or Android smartphone)

Automobile

General knowledge of bean-to-bar chocolate is a plus, but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on an intermittent basis

Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
