Job Description: Our company seeks a dedicated and experienced Captain to join our team and ensure a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience for our guests onboard our vessels. The ideal candidate should have expertise in weather forecasting interpretation and knowledge of Kauai's ocean conditions, as well as a background in leadership and management. Responsibilities:

Operate and navigate boats by all safety regulations and guidelines.

Provide excellent customer service by meeting and exceeding guests' needs

Prioritize safety for guests, crew, and yourself.

Plan and execute all tours considering weather, ocean conditions, and guest needs.

Maintain high standards for the appearance and upkeep of boats and assist with routine and emergency repairs.

Enforce vessel rules and assist in maintaining all vessel safety equipment.

Prepare the vessel for daily tours, including fueling, equipment checks, and cleaning.

Maintain the inventory of all onboard supplies.

Provide tour commentary and assist reservation staff with guest vetting.

Engage in discussions with the reservations staff concerning tour routes, weather considerations, and trip reports.

Supervise passenger embarkation/disembarkation.

Assist with the upkeep of precise manifests and the safeguarding of vessels in adverse weather conditions.

Comply with all state and federal laws regarding marine life, tour areas, and boating.

Requirements:

Available to work flexible hours, including weekends & holidays.

Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies while maintaining excellent communication and customer service skills.

Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team.

Proven experience in operating and navigating boats safely and efficiently.

Competency in docking, mooring, anchoring, and boat handling skills.

Proficiency in weather forecasts and interpretation.

Understanding of the vessel's electrical systems and mechanical operations

US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential 50 GRT

FCC Radio Operator

TWIC Card

First Aid and CPR Certificate

Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
