Position Definition
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the maintenance worker performs general non-skilled/technical work in the general upkeep and maintenance of 444 Nahua, When and where needed, on-the-job training will be provided.
General Duties
Work in conjunction with all custodial and security personnel.
Receives oral or written orders from Maintenance Supervisor and/or Building Supervisor.
Performs wall and ceiling repairs, tape and bedding, texturing, priming, and repainting as needed
Performs daily preventive maintenance, repairs, and routine inspections of building infrastructure, including walls, ceilings, doors, windows, hardware, and roof, cleaning and care of floors, walls, bathrooms, etc.
Care of trees, lawns, and shrubbery.
Prepares and keeps maintenance record.
Requisitions all maintenance and custodial supplies and equipment.
Maintains general supply inventory.
Replenishes restroom supplies.
Replaces light bulbs.
Assists with setting up and tear down of chairs, tables and equipment needed for approved meetings.
Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor.
Additional Duties
Provides assistance to officials, staff, visitors, and other employees as necessary.
Checks building at beginning and end of shifts.
Participates in building coverage by working evenings and Saturday, Sunday, and Holiday rotation as required.
Some custodian duties when needed.
Qualifications Profile
When and where needed, on-the-job training will be provided.
Be sufficiently skilled in human relations to perform in this capacity with reasonable success.
Should be sufficiently articulate to communicate with the general public.
Have training, background, and experiences sufficient to satisfy the expectation described in this job description.
The skills and knowledge required would generally be obtained with previous experience in building cleaning and maintenance work.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic oral and/or written instructions.
Ability to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing from 15 to 75 pounds.
Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat and rain.
Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor.
