JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Customer Service/Warranty Manager
Department: Field
Reports to: VP of Construction
A Customer Service/Warranty Manager is responsible for reviewing warranty claims and coordinating, scheduling, and performing the work to address the claims. When not handling warranty claims, the Customer Service/Warranty Manager will work with the painters or carpenters on our current projects, perform work on minor renovation projects, and help with punchlist work.
REQUIREMENTS
To be an effective Customer Service/Warranty Manager, you must:
Be authorized to work in the USA
Maintain a valid driver’s license
Have/Maintain a reliable vehicle with current insurance and registration
Be able to safely work on a jobsite with rough terrain and tall steps
Work well on a team
Be respectful to others
Be able to read/understand plans
Be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week most weeks in the year
Be able to use a smartphone effectively and learn new software
Must have handyman-like skills/experience (e.g. painting, drywall repairs, basic carpentry, etc.)
Have good time management skills and the ability to make an accurate schedule
Have at least five years of experience in construction
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Customer Service/Warranty Manager, you will:
Review warranty claims and coordinate with the homeowners and/or property managers to schedule inspections and work to address the claims
Schedule subcontractors or workmen
Document work with photos/written correspondence
Maintain a list of open items
Create and maintain a schedule of work
Apply paint and stain to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and/or sprayers
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Protect/cover surfaces to keep them clean and rid of damages
Clean machines, supplies, and equipment to keep them in good working condition
Putty/prime/caulk cracks, holes, etc.
Remove and reinstall hardware when necessary
Record your time (and filling out a timesheet) accurately by project
Perform basic carpentry tasks (installing door/cabinet hardware, installing shelving, etc.)
