Hiring Farm Manager

Aloha we are a 1/2 acre organic herb and tea farm in Kilauea, Kaua’i opening a position for a farm manager as we expand our operation we’re looking to hire the right person to manage this farm location, from field work, to harvesting, processing, potentially making herbal products, and going to market, this position includes a lot of different tasks to maintain a successful farm business. It would be a great learning opportunity for someone who loves herbs, medicine making, sharing beautiful things, operating a farm business, etc.

We’re looking for a physically fit person to maintain the farm field (this includes nursery work, weeding, planting, harvesting, mowing, weed whacking & more) & set up at markets, an organized & integral person to operate business & stay on top of things, someone who is good at communicating & honest, a pleasant and sociable person to run the market booth & engage with customers.

25 hours a week roughly

training rate is $22/hr

hired rated is $30/hr with potential for raise if you excel.

general schedule:

(we’re flexible with work hour times on field days)

monday 9am-12 noon, field maintenance, harvest & dehydrate (3hrs).

tuesday 11am-6pm roughly, farmers market day: packing up, going to market, market runs 2-5 pm, pack up & unload market materials (7 hrs).

wednesday 9am-12 noon field work & harvest, dehydrator exchange (3 hrs+). opportunity for longer field day if needed or desired.

friday 4pm-7pm field work, harvest, exchange dehydrator herbs, (pack up truck for market tomorrow or pack truck early saturday morning) (the days before market can vary if you brew tea to sell at market, or if you harvest flowers to make fresh bouquets, etc.) (3 hrs.+)

saturday 6am-2pm pack up market materials, set up at market, market runs 9:30-12:30, pack up, unload market materials (8 hrs)
