Job Description:

The construction inspector is responsible for ensuring the general contractor’s work meets the project’s plans and specification requirements. He or she will perform daily inspections and submit daily reports that include summary of work completed, photos, issues, quality and compliance of the asphalt, concrete and soil materials, and workmanship on the construction project. The inspector will perform field inspections, testing, and audits, as well as review project documents, specifications, and standards. He or she will also prepare and maintain electronic inspection records, reports, and corrective actions.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience or equivalent education as a Construction Inspector for asphalt, concrete, soil and/or related construction field.

Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and workmanship standards and specifications. Asphalt, concrete, soil and/or electrical knowledge a plus.

Functional computer, tablet, and mobile phone skills.

Ability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.

Ability to handle prolonged exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

Read and interpret project documents, drawings, and specifications.

Prepare and maintain inspection records, reports, and checklists online.

Planning and organizational skills.

Able to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate good task management.

Communicate effectively and professionally.

Work independently and as part of a team.

Work a variety of shifts including day, swing and graveyard.

Able to pass a criminal history background check by the State of Hawaii for airport AOA/Sterile Area access.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Ability to read, write and speak English.
