We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Tile Setter to join our team at Gaul Granite & Marble. As a Journeyman Tile Setter, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the beauty of our clients' spaces by meticulously installing tile surfaces. We are looking for someone who possesses excellent tile-setting skills and has a proven track record of getting the job done well and efficiently.
While our company is located in Kea'au Shipman, Hawai'i, our preference is for candidates residing in Kona, Hawai'i, since most of our projects are concentrated in that area, spanning from Kohala Ranch to Kohanaiki. Nonetheless, we are open to considering applicants living in Hilo or other regions of the Big Island who are willing to commute, as well as those willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities:
-Install tile surfaces, including floors and walls with precision and attention to detail.
-Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure timely project completion.
-Maintain and operate tile setting equipment and tools.
-Evaluate and interpret project blueprints and specifications.
-Ensure the quality, durability, and accuracy of tile installations.
-Conduct on-site measurements and take necessary precautions to avoid errors.
-Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
-Assist in training and mentoring junior team members.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5 years of tile setting experience is required.
-Preferably, 10+ years of tile setting experience.
-Strong proficiency in all aspects of tile setting, including layout, cutting, and finishing.
-Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
-Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines.
-Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
-Proficiency in reading and interpreting project blueprints and specifications.
-Willingness to travel to project locations in Kona, Hawaii.
