## About the Role
We're seeking a Junior Telecommunications Technician to join our team at Elitech Systems. You'll work alongside Senior Technicians to support our mission of delivering transformational technology solutions to businesses and government organizations. Our services include technology deployments, ICT infrastructure consulting, IT asset management, and network structured cabling and wireless solutions.
## Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site pre-task surveys for project planning
- Install and manage various cable types including Cat 5, Cat 6, Copper, Single-Mode Fiber, and Multi-Mode Fiber
- Perform cable installation, termination, labeling, and documentation
- Establish voice and data networks through cable installation and splicing
- Mount telecommunications equipment including routers, switches, servers, and security systems
- Install cable pathway systems using industry-standard tools and equipment
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and specifications
- Interface professionally with customer representatives
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and industry standards
## Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years' recent experience in cable installation and management (preferred)
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background checks (felony, federal, and misdemeanor)
- Proficiency with basic business software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable using various hand tools
- Willingness to complete company-required training (compliance, OSHA safety)
## Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Comfortable working at heights and on ladders
- Physical mobility for bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Capability to work in confined spaces (crawl spaces, closets)
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods
- Willing to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
