Job Title: Lead Carpenter

POSITION SUMMARY
Lead Carpenter’s primary responsibilities are to follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients. Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding. Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials. Will work constantly with wood, drywall, fiberglass, or other materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be in charge from start to finish of a job.
Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding.
Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials.
Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients.
Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and doorframes.
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
Instruct and direct laborers and other construction trade helpers.
Prepare sites to ensure maximum optimization of construction work procedures.
Clean debris, trash and hazardous materials from construction sites.
Dig trenches and pour concrete as instructed.
Build temporary structures and scaffolding.
Clean and maintain construction equipment appropriately.
Align structural components according to blue prints.
Perform maintenance tasks to progress the overall project.
Load and unload equipment from trucks.
Drive trucks carrying materials and equipment to sites.
Ensure that all work is being done in compliance with the company’s protocols.
Train apprentices and new hires in construction labor work.
Use hand tools to cut and shape material as per instructions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
3 - 5 years of carpentry experience
Must have basic tools
Ability to adhere to established safety procedures.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday to Friday
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, VEHICLE USE
Various construction & carpentry equipment. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades. Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical hazards. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, electric saws, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor and outdoor environments: varied exposure to hot and cold temperatures and different weather conditions. Possibility of working in dangerous conditions, construction sites, and at high heights.
