Job Description: Our company seeks a dedicated and skilled Project Coordinator/Boat Boss with a background in leadership, boat-building, and project coordination. As the project Coordinator/Boat Boss, you will ensure that all new vessels are constructed to the highest standards within the specified timeframe and strictly compliant with USCG regulations. The ideal candidate will be crucial in providing comprehensive support across all areas of the boat building department. Additionally, you will work alongside and oversee the boat-building team on the shop floor to maintain a productive and fulfilling workplace while ensuring that company standards and policies are followed.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all staff within the Boat building department.

Assist in the boat-building team recruitment process.

Manage the Boat build and delegation of tasks to ensure efficient and high-quality construction.

Supervise various projects, ensuring project milestones are met in terms of timeline, budget, and quality.

Manage project documentation, including drawing documentation, USCG documentation, parts book, and final boat manual with troubleshooting tree.

Ensure project milestones are met regarding timeline, budget, and quality.

Plan and facilitate project planning and team meetings.

Perform boat-building tasks, including carpentry, painting, carbon and glass layups, vacuum bagging, fairing and sanding, wiring, gluing, and installing marine systems.

Maintain a clean and secure work environment, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and good housekeeping practices.

Conduct necessary errands as needed.

Requirements:

Available to work flexible hours, including weekends & holidays.

Ability to work 35-40 hours per week, with overtime approval from the supervisor or manager.

Minimum of 5 years experience in the boat-building industry.

Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with the provision of a driver's abstract for any out-of-state driver's license upon hire.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings/blueprints, and procedure manuals.

Knowledge of various boat-building techniques.

Proficiency in English, with the ability to effectively communicate and understand verbal and written communications.

Must be continuously contactable and have access to a cell phone.

Highly accurate and committed, able to read and interpret documents and understand boat-building techniques.

Skills:

Familiarity with project management methodologies.

Strong leadership skills to lead, coach, inspire, support, and motivate the team.

Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information and manage conversations.

Effective decision-making skills to balance options and decide the best action.

Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain efficient systems for information and documents.

Attention to detail, completing tasks accurately, and working well under pressure and with multiple deadlines.

Compensation: Range-$25.00-$40.00/hr.
