CMV Driver - Freight

Looking for a full-time CMV Driver who works well in a fast-paced warehouse team environment, is highly self-motivated and detail-oriented, and can efficiently multi-task to ensure safe and timely completion of job duties.

Department: Freight

Hours: Varied start times from 5:30am; Monday through Friday; weekends as necessary

Overtime: Usual and required

Essential Duties:

Independent and safe operation of a commercial vehicle including proper securement of loads to vehicles to prevent damage to loads or accidents.

Timely and accurate delivery and pick up of customer shipments as assigned including driver load/offload of vehicle.

Professionally communicate with customers and dispatch office regarding shipments and delivery status.

Maintain safety of vehicle being operated and shipments being transported by conducting complete and thorough pre-trip safety inspections.

Consistently abide by all State and Federal driving regulations, including hazardous materials, and DOT requirements, including monitoring Hours of Service regulations.

Accurately complete all paperwork, including dray tag, vehicle inspection reports and delivery documents, and daily driver logs.

Assist drivers with deliveries and pick-ups on the road, including placing items in designated areas, down stacking, and assembly when required; reversing onto the dock; and safely navigating delivery/pick-up locations by spotting and stopping traffic and/or pedestrians.

While on the dock, follow instructions from Terminal Supervisor or Senior Lead Checker.

Load/unload various types of freight from containers to and from terminal floor, which involves lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling, palletizing, shrink wrapping, and/or operating a forklift.

Retrieve items from warehouse floor, storage bins, vaults, and containers and assist customers with Will Call freight pick-ups.

Load/unload delivery trucks, either manually or with a forklift/pallet jack, completing corresponding paperwork.

Maintain warehouse, facility, and company vehicle cleanliness by using tools such as a broom, dustpan, and pallet jacks as necessary.

Complete warehouse closing procedures, maintain accurate equipment inventory count and tracking, audit paperwork, support fellow workers with completing work assignments, assist with maintaining expected work pace to achieve daily operational goals and training.

Wear company-approved uniform, including any required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing the Company and delivering service to customers.

Manual labor as assigned.

Always think and work safely to prevent work injuries, accidents and property damage. Comply with all company safety rules, including reporting unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, illnesses and injuries to supervisor or manager and actively participate in identifying ways to make our company a safer place to work.

Qualifications: Required (R) or Preferred (P)

Minimum 2 years related business experience: (R)

High school diploma or equivalent: (R)

Medical certification: (R)

Driver’s license with clean driving record: (R)

Fluency in English (oral and written): (R)

Effective oral and written communication: (R)

Forklift and electric pallet jack certified: (P)

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.: (R)

Able to operate a smart phone device and business applications: (P)
