Stone's Towing & Recovery Inc. is a trusted provider of transportation and logistics services throughout Hawaii. We specialize in roll-off container services, car hauling, and the transport of heavy equipment for construction, commercial, and industrial clients. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and flatbeds. This role involves transporting goods efficiently and safely while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. A commitment to safety and customer service is essential.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including but not limited to tractor-trailers, flatbeds, car carriers, lowboys, and roll-off trucks.
- Safely load, unload, and transport various types of equipment such as forklifts, excavators, boom lifts, and containers
- Ensure loads are properly secured in compliance with DOT and company safety standards
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Navigate routes efficiently while maintaining delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that arise during transport.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while on the road.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of driving experience (professional/commercial driving a plus) with a clean driving record
- Previous delivery driver experience is a plus, as well as knowledge of freight handling procedures.
- Experience operating forklifts or other loading equipment is beneficial.
- Ability to follow directions, multitask, and adapt to changing assignments
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required for this position.
