POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Safety and Security Supervisor, this position is responsible for operating vehicles for purposes of transporting passengers, maintaining discipline, order, safety and security on buses and vans, in compliance with government and management directives.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Operate buses, light trucks and passenger vehicles, transport students, staff and packages
Maintain vehicles for routine service; clean vehicles perform routine vehicle inspection daily, including lights, brakes, mirrors, steering and other required operating equipment; recommend mechanical repairs as needed
Transport students to and from recreational functions, airports and other points as required; monitor student clothing trips
Assist with student recreational activities on and off center
Assist in transporting ill or injured as required
Maintain required transportation reports and records
Participate in student employability programs and activities
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma and 1 year related experience. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair also required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
CDL License is preferred
