Driver / Warehouse Worker
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks associated with the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food products, including packing orders, unloading deliveries, re-packing food products, operating warehouse equipment, and general maintenance and cleanup.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Performs various general warehouse duties, including packing customer orders, unloading deliveries, re-packing food products, general maintenance, and janitorial tasks.
2. Assists in unloading and loading products onto/from trucks. Weigh, scan, salvage, and store food following Feeding America Guidelines for “Good Receiving and Food Storage Practices.” Assures accuracy, quantity, and quality of deliverables.
3. Operates motorized forklift, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
4. Operates Maui Food Bank trucks to pick up local donations. Maintains travel logs and other documentation as required.
5. Maintains optimal operating level of Maui Food Bank vehicles, including oil, gas, fluid levels, battery, tires, washing interior & exterior weekly, cleaning, pest control, etc., and reports any problems to the Warehouse Coordinator.
6. Maintain records of operations. Report accidents and operational problems immediately.
7. Assists in coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual inventories.
8. Assists in the daily operation of the warehouse and other related activities as required or assigned by the Warehouse Coordinator.
9. Participate in Annual Food Drives as assigned.
10. All other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a warehouse.
2. Truck driving experience is preferred but not required.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Valid Hawaii State Drivers License
2. Clean Hawaii State Traffic Abstract
3. Ability to read and perform essential mathematical functions.
4. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50-60 lbs.
5. Willingness to travel island-wide.
6. Willingness to relate and work with member agencies, donors, and the community.
7. Willingness and ability to learn sanitary food storage and handling guidelines and practices.
8. Certification to operate a motorized forklift or desire and ability to obtain certification.
9. Neat and clean appearance.
10. A good work attitude
