Kohala Food Hub is a growing and dynamic nonprofit organization working to grow a sustainable regional food system by providing market access, essential services and resources to local producers and increasing community access to fresh, healthy food. We are currently hiring for 1 Full Time Driver/Packer position to work 30-40 hours/week.
To succeed in the Driver/Packer role, you must have a clean driving record, pass a DOT physical, operate a 16’ diesel refrigerated box truck with lift gate safely and responsibly, consistently lift up to 50 pounds, be on the road in and out of the vehicle doing deliveries and pick-ups in a Kohala Food Hub company truck and van for full days, work on your feet packing, sorting and portioning local produce, and deliver excellent customer care.
The Driver/Packer is responsible to perform some duties of other team members when necessary or assigned. Prior experience driving large vehicles is highly preferred.

Executive Director, Director of Operations and Manager.

Driver/Packer: Primary Duties:
-Long haul driving of 16’ box truck and high roof van for pick-ups and deliveries
-Regularly and repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
-Work on your feet for long periods of time
-Portion, pack, and process produce
-Perform trash runs to transfer station
-Clean and sanitize delivery vehicles and facility
-Perform product inventory
-Emails, text messages, phone communications
Schedule and Compensation:
-$22/hour for the first month of training, $24/hour thereafter
-Full-Time: 30-40 hours/week, Mondays-Fridays

Qualifications:
-DOT physical must be passed (funded by Kohala Food Hub)
-Free of criminal background that bears a rational relationship to the job
-High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
-Reliable transportation to and from the job site
Working Conditions:
-Able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., push, pull, and carry for long periods of time
-Partially covered outdoor space where work is required in various temperatures and weather.
