Job Summary

Provide quality service, which includes safely transporting passengers while providing entertainment, historical facts and information to guests. Must be compliant with the FMCSR as well as Federal/State Department of Transportation guidelines.

This role requires you to have or successfully obtain your CDL B with passenger and air break endorsement. If you currently do not have your CDL B, we will train you(PAID)! You must have a valid Hawaii State Drivers License and be at least 21 years of age or older to be considered.

Job Responsibilities:

Pick up and transport guests to various locations based on assigned tour. Must comply with all federal, state and city accordance regarding speed and safety regulations.

Effectively communicate company mandated safety guidelines to all passengers on board.

Must be able to provide historical facts and information about the island, the people and their culture.

Knowledge of various designated stops and establishments that the passengers will be visiting while on tour.

Ensure that all customers, internal and external, receive outstanding service by providing a guest friendly environment, which includes friendly greeting and acknowledging all in a warm and sincere manner.

A team player - work closely with internal customers, such as fellow drivers, dispatch & reservations department, customer service representatives and transportation supervisors, providing clear and concise information as it relates to our passengers.

Complete pre-check and post-trip vehicle inspections at the beginning and end of all trips, as required by the Federal Department of Transportation regulations. Submit all required documentation upon start and completion of trip.

Use of two-way radio to communicate with dispatcher and transportation supervisor/manager any and all emergency and/or imminent safety hazard conditions.

Report all accidents and/or incidents to dispatch and supervisor, requesting police or ambulance service, as needed.

Gather witness reports from passengers

. Complete company Accident/Incident report.

When applicable, provide service to physically disabled persons by utilizing wheelchair lift.

Refuel vehicle at end of route assignment.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and practices.

Qualifications/Essential Job Functions:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

1 - 3 years’ experience in the transportation or tour industry preferred.

Competencies/Skills:

Excellent communication, organizational and interaction skills required.

Must have the ability to “problem solve” as unusual circumstances occur.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills while entertaining guests

Valid Driver’s License

Ability to pass a PUC physical as required by the DOT.

Physical Demands:

Ability to provide entertaining narration and safety briefings to all passengers.

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Vision abilities required including close, distance, color, and depth perception

Ability to hear emergency vehicles, passengers in need of assistance etc.

Ability to carry 25 pounds.

Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.

Ability to climb stairs/steps and walk frequently throughout the work shift.

Ability to bend/squat/kneel frequently to do vehicle inspections.

Ability to freely access all areas of the designated work area/environment.

Ability to sit 40%, stand 30%, walk 30% throughout the work shift.

Ability to twist and turn (up to 180 degrees) to monitor mirrors, passengers embarking and disembarking and checking cards continuously throughout the day.

Ability to effectively use two-way radio.

Ability to work in all-weather climates; wind, rain, hot and cold.

Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Must be able to physically be present at the main office to perform job duties.

Work Environment:

Regular exposure to outdoor environment and traffic with moderate noise level.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
