RESPONSIBILITIESJOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: Patrols the buildings and grounds of the Hospital as well as the outlying properties to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, medical staff and the protection to property. Greets, assists and provides service to patients, visitors and staff in a friendly and professional manner. Performs duties relative to accomplishing the Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital Emergency Preparedness function.TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking. Frequent: standing, sitting, walking/running, riding of a bicycle, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, twisting body, walking on uneven ground, squatting, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling usual weight of 20 pounds up to 50 pounds of force. Occasional: kneeling, crawling.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Exposure to body fluids, blood products, and communicable diseases. Work environment may be highly stressful, fast paced, and hectic. Exposed to electrical hazards, fire hazards and unsafe conditions and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, hazardous chemicals and materials, intense heat, extreme cold, natural and manmade disasters and hazards associated with working in and near traffic. The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to extreme.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary coursework or college degree preferred. Current State of Hawaii Guard Registration card. Valid U.S. driver’s license required in accordance with Hawaii state law rules and regulations. Driver's abstract or evidence of good driving record. Meets and complies with qualifications set forth in the QNHCH Fleet/Motor Vehicle policy. Current BLS-HCP certification.EXPERIENCE: Experience in related work is preferred, such as law enforcement, firefighting or security, showing ability in the following:o Customer serviceo Dealing with peopleo Writing complete and accurate reportso Mature, caring and professional behaviors Ability to speak, read, write and understand English both orally and in writing and the ability to effectively communicate ideas, thoughts, and concerns.Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Vet
