Your role as the Assistant Director, Talent & Culture you will support the management of the Talent & Culture Department of the property and pertains to all areas which support the Fairmont philosophy of creating an environment where each and every colleague is recognized and feels valued for their contributions.Salary Range:  $90,000 - $115,000What you will be doing:Manage the day-to-day operations of the Talent & Culture DepartmentLead and provide support to the Talent & Culture team members, including assisting with administrative duties as neededAssist the Regional Director of Talent & Culture in assessing organizational needs, developing aligned Talent & Culture solutions and implement strategies in the areas of employee relations, recruitment, retention administration and Colleague wellnessProvide assistance related to employee relations such as direct line committee organization, employee communication, bulletin boards, employee of the month program, employee picnics, parties and general meetingsSupport the implementation of Talent & Culture strategiesOrganize, attend and participate in management of employee functionsMaintain relationships with local schools, colleagues and universitiesManage and oversee the recruitment process and benefit administrationImplement retention strategies to fulfill business need objectivesComplete exit interviews with departing colleaguesProvide assistance and support with employee relations issues, including but not limited to coaching and counseling guidance and conducting disciplinary meetings when requiredAssist Departmental Leaders with the development of specific action plans to address issues and concerns identified in Colleague feedbackAssist Managers in setting objectives and goals for supervisor and assistant managersProvide advice on employment legislation and developments in labor laws and employment standardsCommunicate Talent & Culture policies and procedures to all leaders and colleaguesPromote work-life balance to achieve a healthy workforce in each departmentSupport the motivation of talent through regular activities through the hotelEnsure employee final pay is accurate, timely, and in keeping with legislative requirementsProcess and maintain confidential information and properly document information for payroll purposesParticipate in the departmental financial budgeting and month-end processesSupport an environment which promotes open ongoing feedback and coaching to bridge gaps for better performanceBe a role model within the hotel and exhibit and practice professional leadership skills, that fully align with our culture, values and pillarsPromote and maintain positive Colleague relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect, and aloha spiritAdvance positive employee relations by building effective working relationships with all constituents
