A&P Aircraft Maintenance Lead Technician - Up to $15K Hiring Incentive

JOB SUMMARYThe Maintenance Lead Technician is responsible for performing and leading projects regarding inspection, test, repair, maintenance, and service of aircraft using test equipment and hand tools as needed to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturers specifications. In addition, this technician will oversee assigned technicians.SCHEDULEMonday-Friday 7am-4pm (minimum 40 hours per week) SIGN-ON BONUS Up to $15,000 depending on relevant airframe experienceDuties & Responsibilities

Directly supervises assigned technicians

Responsible for motivating, mentoring, training, and providing constructive criticism to technicians

Ability to perform all Maintenance Tech III Duties & Responsibilities

Leads projects as assigned

Prioritizes workflow on assigned jobs

Makes technical decisions regarding discrepancies and job flow

Maintains high level of communication with Service Manager, Production Scheduling, Customer and other departments assigned to the project

Qualifications & Job Requirements

Experience:

Minimum five (5) years’ experience working with general aviation airframes supported by Western Aircraft

Entry level supervisory experience

Advanced troubleshooting abilities

Education:

Airframe & Powerplant certifications required

Other Prerequisites

Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level. The employee is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Must have the ability for climbing and bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and working at heights; Reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and 25 pounds overhead.

Responsibilities (1) Planning: Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Establishes deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies. Determines skills, materials and equipment required to do the work. Participates in the initial planning of current and future work schedules and development of budget requests. Provides workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as the scheduling of projected work. (2) Work Direction: Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Instructs subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas. Reviews work in progress or on completion. Makes adjustments as necessary to effectively and economically accomplish the work. Notes and investigates work related problems and independently implements corrective actions which can be taken without affecting work operations controlled by other supervisors.
