OverviewSt. Luke’s Health System in Boise is seeking a Lead/Specialty Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) team.This is an onsite position in an office envirionment. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday business hours - no holidays or weekends.Responsibilities
Develop and present policies, procedures, new medication reviews, and annual class reviews to Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee for review and approval
Provide leadership in the area of specialty pharmacy management, including developing and maintaining the medication pipeline to inform utilization management strategies, and keeping key stakeholders apprised of high impact medication approvals
Monitor the formulary change process to minimize member disruption but drive value and better member outcomes
Research and explain clinical and business aspects of drugs and drug strategies to internal business partners. Participate in internal meetings to support and present relevant information as needed. Provide subject matter expertise to troubleshoot formulary related matters
Develop utilization management strategy including guideline directed and cost-conscious prior authorization and step therapy criteria
Review providers' requests for pharmacy medication services and coordinates utilization/appeals management review
Design, financially model, and implement novel pharmacy benefit cost savings initiatives
Serve as a compliance partner related to NCQA and other accrediting organizations for pharmacy services team(s)
Serve as functional lead for formulary and PBM services
Work collaboratively within organization structures to improve medication use outcomes
Mentor and train staff
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Valid Idaho Pharmacist License
Two (2) years’ experience
MBA or Residency in lieu of two (2) years' experience
