Our client builds React and React Native applications that empower customers to communicate efficiently with their customers via text messaging. Our client's applications talk via JSON APIs to their micro-service backend system. The entire ecosystem runs inside of Docker containers running in Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform.
Frontend engineers at work closely with UX and Product to build delightful user experiences. Often that takes a level of care and craftsmanship to ensure that we are balancing all of the micro interactions that happen in a modern UI. As such, we expect our frontend engineers to be passionate about user experience and the users they are serving.
As a Principal Frontend Engineer, you will bear primary responsibility for making sure we're making the best technical trade-offs in our product. You will own the roadmap for our frontend technologies as well as the roadmap for paying down our technical debt. We will lean heavily on your technical expertise from the discovery and project planning phases through delivery
Job Details
An ideal candidate will have:
8+ years frontend development experience
3+ years working on a SAAS product as a frontend engineer, including experience integrating with a micro-services backend
Deep understanding of the frontend ecosystem (JavaScript, CSS / SASS, HTML, the DOM)
Mastery of React and some of its more popular accompanying libraries
Expertise and passion around writing different types of frontend tests, including end-to-end tests (e.g. cypress.io)
Experience releasing closed-source JavaScript libraries via npm, github
React Native (mobile) development experience strongly preferred
Proven technical leadership abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
