Join us as we digitally connect the world and shape the future.The RoleLumen is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Legacy Simplification to lead and drive the simplification of several of our legacy products, platforms and processes. The Vice President of Legacy Simplification at Lumen is responsible for leading the execution of various initiatives, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals and ensuring impact from these initiatives are driven to our bottom line. This role involves co-developing and executing the Product and Ecosystem Simplification strategy, overseeing the TDM conversion initiative, and managing the continued implementation of the Network Advancement program. The Vice President is accountable for the impact of these initiatives, ensuring they are executed effectively and deliver the desired outcomes for Lumen. This position will employ cross functional matrix management skills for processes, systems, and tools.The Main Responsibilities

Co-Development and Execution of Simplification Strategy:

Setup Agile squads for E2E solutioning

Collaborate with cross functional senior leadership to co-develop and execute Lumen's Product and Ecosystem Simplification strategy.

Ensure timely execution of the simplification initiatives, aligning with the company's overall strategic goals.

TDM Conversion Initiative:

Lead the continued execution of Lumen's TDM conversion initiative.

Oversee the transition from legacy TDM systems to modern, efficient technologies.

Ensure minimal disruption to services during the conversion process.

Network Advancement Implementation:

Own and drive the ongoing implementation plan for Lumen's Network Advancement program.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment of network advancements.

Monitor progress and address any challenges that arise during implementation.

Leadership and Team Management:

Successful implementation and proper integration of a new organization and operating model to best accomplish Lumen’s strategic goals within the IOM organization.

Lead a team of professionals dedicated to legacy simplification and network advancement.

Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and support for simplification initiatives.

Communicate progress, challenges, and successes to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

Financial Management:

Ensure benefits and impacts of initiatives are being delivered to our bottom line

Manage the budget for legacy simplification and network advancement oversight resources.

Ensure cost-effective execution of initiatives while achieving desired outcomes.

General:

Foster culture of continuous improvement, driving efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery, utilizing best practices and process to improve competencies and develop people.

Acts as a critical advisor to the business unit leader and subsequent leadership team in progressing key objectives and identifying and solving challenges.

Develop key messages and create presentations on behalf of senior leaders by representing and communicating the priorities of leadership across the entire organization.

Be an integral part of the leadership team to define the long-term strategy, translate the strategy into specific requirements for operations, and proactively develop capabilities and personnel within the operations group.

Influence future lifetime value through higher product adoption, customer satisfaction and overall health scores.

Inspire customer focus by creating an organization-wide culture of customer success.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Bachelor's degree or equivalent

10+ years of relevant experience

5+ years of leadership experience

Strong ability to build relationships and establish credibility with executives and stakeholders

Proven track record of delivering results

Experience collaborating with operational contacts at various levels

Proven experience in leading large-scale simplification and transformation initiatives in a complex enterprise environment.

Strong understanding of Lumen’s product portfolio, legacy systems, TDM technologies, and modern network advancements.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to drive strategic initiatives and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
