Raibu Sushi Bar is a newly opening modern Japanese restaurant dedicated to exceptional quality, artistry, and hospitality. We focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and strive to create a dining experience that’s both authentic and innovative. We’re looking for a skilled Sushi Chef to join our culinary team and help us continue to raise the bar for sushi in Boise.

Position Overview:

The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing all sushi menu items with precision and consistency, maintaining the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation. The ideal candidate has strong knife skills, a passion for Japanese cuisine, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other menu items according to Raibu standards

- Ensure all fish and ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled safely

- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient sushi station

- Collaborate with the Head Chef and culinary team to develop specials and seasonal items

- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines

- Provide excellent communication and teamwork with kitchen and service staff

- Engage positively with guests when at the sushi bar

Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience as a Sushi Chef

- Strong knife and fish-handling skills

- Deep understanding of sushi rice preparation, ingredient pairing, and presentation aesthetics

- Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods

- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

- Positive attitude, reliability, and professional demeanor

- Authorization to work in the U.S.
