Palapas Ventana is a small, family-run Ocean Adventure Resort offering guests The Best of Baja. Our seasonal activities include kiteboarding in the winter, diving and fishing in the summer, plus year-round SUP, kayaking, hiking, educational groups, and more.
We have 11 casitas, 6 boats, 4 vehicles, a backhoe, and a range of equipment that all need to be kept in top condition for guest activities. We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Coordinator to lead our maintenance team, oversee preventative care, and ensure everything runs smoothly for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead maintenance team meetings, assign tasks, and inspect completed work
Launch and land boats daily
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on casitas, boats, vehicles, and machinery
Drive backhoe and coordinate vehicle/boat logistics
Source parts and supplies, including runs to La Paz
Coordinate with external mechanics for specialty repairs
Manage scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and performance reviews
Recruit and train maintenance staff
Monitor daily checklists and ensure high standards are met
Requirements:
Proven experience with boat, vehicle, household, and machinery maintenance
Strong skills in tools, electrical, and plumbing work
Problem-solving “can-do” attitude with a friendly, guest-oriented approach
Leadership experience and ability to perform physical labor on the beach and around the resort
Fluency in English and some knowledge of Spanish (we will provide classes!)
Minimum 3-year commitment (long-term preferred)
